Learn Korean with Befa

Korean is a language spoken by about 50 million people in Korea and some areas of China. It's also the official language of South Korea and North Korea, where it is known as Hangul.

Korean is a language spoken in the Korean Peninsula. It is also known as "Hangul" or "Hanja". The name of the language comes from the Chinese characters used to write it, which are derived from ancient Chinese and read something like "han-gul". The word Korea itself was first mentioned in China by Marco Polo (1254).

In Japan, there were several attempts at translating this word into Japanese. One of them was called Kankoku no kotoba (the words for Korea) but it never became popular among speakers of Japanese. This name has been used only since 1945 when Korea became an independent nation.
